EXCURSION TO KAZANLAK IN THE VALLEY OF THE ROSES AND THE THRACIAN KINGS

11:00 Arrival in the Valley of the Roses and visit of the Shipka Church, built in memory of the last battle of the Russian-Turkish Liberation War.
11:30 Visit of the Thracian Tomb „Goliama Kosmatka“, splendid example of Thracian architecture from the V – III century period. A.C.
12:00 Departure for the city of Kazanlak, capital of the famous Valley of the Roses, visit of the Archaeological Museum, which preserves a large part of the gold and silver treasures found in tombs and mouls of the Thracian period.
13:00 Free time for lunch in the pedestrian area of the city.
14:30 Departure for the „Damascena“ Distillery/which is located 20 km from the city of Kazanlak/, where you could see the real process of creating the most natural product: rose essential oil, which begins with the collection of the damask rose, the use of the still and the final result.16:00 Departure for Sofia.
